DBM has today appointed Kipling Zubevich as CEO, tasked with accelerating its growth through innovation. DBM has achieved significant success in recent years, with all major Australian banking and insurance institutions subscribing to its flagship DBM Atlas business and retail advocacy programs. Reflecting this success, DBM was awarded Campaign Asia Consultancy of the Year for ANZ.
Kipling joins DBM from National Australia Bank where he was most recently General Manager Business Marketing, directing the activities of 100 in-house and agency professionals and managing multi-million dollar budgets. Highlights of his 10 years at NAB included: delivering two successful SME brand campaigns which helped NAB fortify its business banking leadership position; leading a number of product acquisition programs, each of which exceeded targets by 30% or more; delivering a 20% efficiency uplift by shaping NAB’s agile marketing transformation; and evolving NAB’s business customer segmentation model.
Prior to NAB, Kipling spent over a decade as a strategy consultant, primarily at Corporate Value Associates. He advised executives in the finance, pharmaceutical, government, manufacturing, and energy sectors, and in many global markets and segments spanning retail, SME, corporate, and institutional.
With a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from Monash University, Kipling is a long term advocate of sustainability, and has also provided pro-bono consulting and strategy services to organisations in the community and education sectors (including the Australian Conservation Foundation, Oxfam and Monash University).
Dr Chris Riquier, CEO International of holding group, Illuminera, said “we are enthusiastic to have someone of Kipling’s calibre to accelerate DBM’s growth. His industry knowledge, leadership, and advisory capabilities will be critical for progressing the DBM journey.”
Kipling said:
“Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with DBM on a number of strategic projects, and I’ve always been impressed by the rigour and insight they bring to the conversation. Now more than ever it is critical for brands to understand their customers intimately, and DBM’s data assets and capabilities in this space are unparalleled in the Australian market. I’m excited to be part of the organisation’s next chapter.”
Kipling will be supported by founder Dhruba Gupta who will continue to focus on business development and the advancement of DBM Atlas, the industry standard for advocacy and behavioural measurement in Australian financial services.
